Chatty for Facebook Messenger App Reviews

It’s impossible to view or access to my messages when I’m connected to internet by using Bluetooth data sharing (from any mobile device). And the app should add the possibility to answer a message from the banner/alert. But this app stay the best Messenger client because we can customize the appearance and the app don’t use all my battery !

Well designed app which is always working as expected. (Just one little teak I would love to see: If I click out of the answer-textfield and then click inside again the blinking textcursor has disappeard, which feels a little inconvenient)

If you’re looking for a smarter way to interact with Facebook Messenger, this is it. Putting your contact list down on the left hand side with your messages on the right, it behaves a lot like iMessage. You can even use stickers, which makes me happy. There are some improvements that need to be made; there’s no way to archive or delete a conversation from Chatty (though if you archive or delete from the Facebook website it will immediately be reflected in Chatty), and if you close the main window there’s no way to open it back up again save getting a new message or closing and re-opening the app (command+n should reopen that window imho) Other than that? Great app. Worth the money for anyone who uses FB Messenger.

Great application, but still waiting for imessage style chat ballons.

Overall very good, but it keeps crashing and frezing very often. Please add drag&drop for all kinds of files.

Something is wrong with memory allocation. Why chatty use 1.4gb of RAM ?

Newest version works better then before but I miss „send picture” button

Chatty keeps getting better! I really like the new appearance settings and customization! I use messenger all day for work etc and I havent experienced an app with so much attention to making it all work seamlessly with OS X quick reply, as well as the extra features in the menu bar. This is better than Goofy and some of the other free options. I’m really enjoying how feature packed this app is! Glad to see so much work put in to the 2.0 release!

As I’m a developer and understand that this app is a web wrapper around Facebook Web Messenger, I do appreciate the work that went into the 2.0 version. Its much more polished that 1.0. Great job guys.

Pretty excellent option for integrating Messenger into OS X. However, it’s missing out on a pretty critical feature: it doesn’t support pasting images inline. This is nearly a deal breaker for me, as I’m constantly sending screenshots and other images from my clipboard. If they add support for that, it’ll be an instant 5-star app for me. Until then, I don’t think it’s worth the money.

Well integrated into OS X, but still a web page wrapped into an app. Having used some of the other options this is definitely one of the more clean versions. Happy to pay a few bucks to get notifications and a menu bar applet.

Notificaions never stop. Disable them, go offline… it doesn’t matter. Also, if you hide the app icon from the dock and run it from the menu bar, there’s no easy way to quit the app. I’ve contacted Apple about a refund. Broken software shouldn’t be sold.

I’ve always found the Facebook website to be veeeery slow and bloated and I really only used it for chat in the first place; chatty really is a very well designed facebook chat application and it integrates so seamlessly with osx (menubar app , notifications, great design etc…) basically, this app is really awesome.

even when you turn non-messenger notifications off, the count keeps increasing in your menu bar. Really annoying if you only want to use the app for notifications related to facebook messenger.

Best facebook app I’ve found so far. Feature requests: • Adjust the size of the message font without adjusting the size of the header • Custom alert noises • Along with that, *please*, a volume slider for the alert noises

I love Chatty. Only one request for now - just don’t stop updating this app.

I keep getting the app freezing on me upon launch. I haven’t once been able to use it. I’m not sure if anyone else is having this problem, but it is a real pain in my neck. I’m giving it one star until I can have someone confirm a fix for this.

I previously wrote how awful this app was because despite it being really useful the last update bricked it. Well thats fixed now, so its awesome again. Hopefully the devs dont brick it again in the future, but good job on the update!

My work requires me to use Facebook extensively. Having this app live in the menubar is a godsend. Its so much faster to access my notifications and the ability to reply from a banner notification for messages is awesome! Thank you.
